The organisation operates the meter-data applications used to collect and process readings from smart and electromechanical meters. This role, titled Analyste Fonctionnel Services Marchés, exists to support the Factory Services Marchés team on the MDM Smart platform (EnergyIP 9.0 / 9.1) and related integrations, combining strong functional analysis and Oracle SQL knowledge with structured testing practice.
The mission
The Factory Services Marchés team maintains the suite of applications that receive meter readings, normalise them and push them to downstream systems for billing and network planning. The immediate focus is on the MDM Smart (EnergyIP) implementation and its integration into the broader landscape, including file exchanges, APIs and middleware. Work covers both maintenance of production flows and delivery of medium-term changes and projects.
Day to day you will act as the link between business users, development suppliers and operations. You will capture business requirements, write user stories with clear acceptance criteria, validate functional and technical documentation, and run end-to-end testing on targeted systems. You will also manage production incidents, discuss defects with suppliers, and support business users during releases and cutovers. Occasional travel to other sites may be required, and a driving licence with access to a vehicle is necessary for those visits.
Your responsibilities
- Translate business needs into clear user stories and functional specifications, ensuring acceptance criteria are testable and approved by stakeholders
- Own end-to-end testing and validation, delivering reproducible test cases, defect reports and closure criteria using a test management tool such as HPQC
- Triage and resolve production incidents, coordinate fixes with development partners and confirm remediation in production
- Design and validate integrations between EnergyIP, file-based exchanges (SFTP), APIs and downstream systems, ensuring data models and transformations are correct
- Support the business during releases and take responsibility for the functional quality of delivered changes
- Maintain and prioritise the functional backlog in collaboration with product owners and delivery teams
Your profile
Essential skills
- Minimum 5 years proven experience as a functional analyst, preferably in meter-data or utility IT domains
- Hands-on experience with EnergyIP 9.0 or 9.1 and familiarity with MDM concepts
- Strong knowledge of data models and database querying using Oracle SQL
- Proven experience in functional and integration testing, and with test management tools such as HPQC or equivalent
- Clear communicator able to capture requirements, write user stories and work with external suppliers
Preferred skills
- Ability to formalise analyses using UML diagrams
- Experience with backlog tools such as Azure DevOps or equivalent
- Experience working for a grid operator or energy supplier in Belgium
- Familiarity with APIs and Azure integrations (APIM), file transfer tools (WinSCP, SFTP), Putty and high-level Kafka concepts (Confluent)
- Working knowledge of Agile / Scrum delivery
