The organisation is a major public cultural institution undergoing digital transformation to govern a complex, multi‑actor IT ecosystem. The role exists to clarify and formalise the target enterprise architecture, with a particular focus on data & services architecture and data governance, using UML and Visio to produce readable artefacts for stakeholders.
The mission
The organisation is in a structuring phase to make its information system more governable across competing applications, third‑party services and evolving business needs. The immediate project is an 18‑day engagement to deliver a consolidated target architecture and the foundational principles that will support longer term governance; the assignment can be extended later in line with the organisation's roadmap.
Day to day you will work alongside the in‑house IT architect and a cross‑functional team of 6 to 10 people including business owners, operations and external suppliers. You will analyse the AS‑IS estate, produce capability and application maps (AS‑IS / TO‑BE), document dependencies and risks, and hand over concise, stakeholder‑friendly artefacts that enable the governance body to take decisions on digital initiatives.
Your responsibilities
- Define and formalise a target enterprise architecture that supports the organisation's digital transformation and data governance objectives
- Align IT strategy and architectural principles with business capabilities and upcoming cultural programmes to ensure investments map to outcomes
- Produce AS‑IS and TO‑BE capability and application maps, using UML and Visio to create diagrams that non‑technical stakeholders can use
- Identify architectural dependencies, technical and organisational risks, and propose pragmatic mitigation paths that enable governance decisions
- Establish clear architecture principles and contribute to the creation of an IT governance framework that fits a public cultural context
- Facilitate stakeholder alignment sessions and present architectural recommendations to senior management and governance committees
