The Business Solutions Underwriting Projects team designs and delivers digital solutions that support brokers and distribution partners in subscribing and managing non-life insurance contracts. This senior role focuses on requirements gathering, test execution and stakeholder coordination to deliver changes to underwriting workflows and core applications, including work that touches MS Dynamics CRM and Microsoft Office-based release artefacts.
The mission
Work sits inside the Business Solutions Underwriting Projects function, which defines and implements changes to underwriting workflows and core systems for the broker channel and non-life business. Projects include process redesign, configuration of policy administration functions, and integrations with distribution platforms, with deliveries on a 3 to 6 month cadence and multiple releases per year.
Day to day you will analyse user needs and translate them into clear user requirements and test plans, run or coordinate functional testing, and follow project progress and budgets from inception to production support. You will act as the bridge between IT teams, product owners and business stakeholders such as legal and marketing, ensuring requirements are implemented and validated against business acceptance criteria.
Your responsibilities
- Deliver clear, testable user requirements and acceptance criteria that allow developers and testers to implement underwriting features with minimal rework.
- Validate solutions through hands-on or coordinated test execution and test management, ensuring defects are tracked and closed before release.
- Drive analysis of user needs, facilitation sessions and workshops with brokers, underwriters and internal stakeholders to align scope and priorities.
- Monitor project planning, track milestones and report on budget, risks and issues to the project manager and steering committee.
- Coordinate handover to operations and provide second-line support after release, including updating process documentation and training materials.
- Maintain traceability from requirements to test cases and production incidents, improving repeatability across releases.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst, 5+ years in a senior business analyst role with exposure to underwriting or comparable commercial processes.
- Proven ability in requirements gathering and writing user requirements that drive development work.
- Practical experience with test execution and test management, creating test plans and running acceptance tests.
- Solid Microsoft Office skills for documentation, reporting and stakeholder communication.
- Methodological working style, structured planning and strong organisation skills.
- Effective communicator able to facilitate workshops and maintain stakeholder alignment.
Preferred skills
- Experience with MS Dynamics CRM or similar CRM configuration.
- Background in software development lifecycles, or prior work in the insurance sector, preferably non-life underwriting.
- Familiarity with stakeholder management practices and basic budget, risk and issue management.
