A major Belgian utility is coordinating several IT and infrastructure programmes that modernise collaboration tools, legal case management and platform foundations. This Senior Project Manager role exists to lead three concurrent initiatives—a 30-site multimedia upgrade, replacement of a legal case management application, and a coordinated OS upgrade programme—using Prince2 governance and a Scrum Master approach where appropriate.
The mission
The programme covers both infrastructure and application-delivery tracks across multiple internal stakeholders and external suppliers. One project will replace multimedia and collaboration hardware and software in approximately 30 sites, another will replace a legacy legal case management system and integrate with SAP for finance, and a third will schedule and supervise operating system upgrades across several technical platforms. Projects will be delivered within a formal programme, with steering committees and cross-project dependency management.
Day to day you will run project planning and control, coordinate vendors and business teams, and report to the programme manager and steering committee. You will produce and maintain project initiation documents, risk and issue logs, milestone plans and benefits tracking, and you will chair project boards and vendor governance meetings. Typical work includes hands-on use of MS Project, Planview and Azure DevOps for planning and tracking, and applying Prince2 controls while facilitating agile delivery patterns where teams use Scrum.
Your responsibilities
- Lead project planning and governance to keep scope, budget and schedule aligned with programme targets and steering committee decisions
- Coordinate suppliers, procurement handovers and vendor execution to ensure contractual deliverables and quality are met
- Drive cross-project dependency management and change control to prevent conflicts between the multimedia, case-management and OS upgrade tracks
- Produce clear, timely status reporting and escalate material risks or blockers to the programme manager and project board
- Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders to validate requirements, acceptance criteria and training plans for post go-live
- Lead lessons-learned and post-implementation reviews to capture improvements for future programme phases
Your profile
Essential skills
- Minimum 5 years proven experience in IT project management, combining infrastructure migration and application or business-facing projects
- Demonstrable experience coordinating infrastructure evolution or migration projects
- Strong knowledge of Prince2 methodology and experience applying its artefacts in governance
- Certified Scrum Master or committed to obtain certification before project start
- Practical experience with MS Project, Planview and Azure DevOps for planning and tracking
- Ability to work independently, manage stakeholders across technical and business teams, and report to governance bodies
Preferred skills
- Experience managing public procurement processes and overseeing supplier execution
- Prior delivery experience in an agile context, combining Prince2 governance with Scrum teams
