The Marketing & Communication department of a major Belgian bank is shifting to a content-first approach for its business client segment. This senior copywriter will work inside the Chapter Storytelling and a multidisciplinary squad to produce SEO-optimised, geo-aware content and to use AI tools for drafting, optimisation and translation. The role focuses on multi-format delivery for the Starters segment, including social, email, articles, video scripts and UX copy.
The mission
This assignment supports a six-month programme to raise organic visibility and engagement for the Starters business segment, aligned with the organisation's content pillars and business goals. You will apply SEO and GEO best practices, use Surfer SEO and AI-assisted workflows, and ensure content meets regulatory requirements for commercial communications.
Day to day you will translate briefs from MarCom managers and the digital marketing lead into measurable content assets for owned and earned channels. You will write and optimise posts, emails, long reads, scripts and microcopy, collaborate with visual and audiovisual creators to adapt narratives into short video and carousel formats, and work in pair with a Dutch-speaking storyteller to translate and adapt content into French. Performance measurement and iterative optimisation based on engagement, CTR and traffic will be part of your delivery.
Your responsibilities
- Translate strategic briefs into high-value, measurable content that supports content pillars and commercial objectives, increasing organic reach and conversions.
- Produce and adapt multi-format content, including social posts, e-mails, long-form articles, video scripts and UX copy, preserving tone of voice and brand guidelines.
- Optimise content for SEO and GEO visibility using Surfer SEO and other tools, and enrich text to improve authority in search and AI overviews.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate drafting, multilingual adaptation and A/B variations, while ensuring quality, accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with designers and audiovisual experts to convert stories into short-form video and carousel formats that drive engagement.
- Analyse content performance metrics, propose concrete improvements based on engagement, reach, CTR and share of voice.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Senior copywriting experience, minimum 6 years, with a strong editorial voice and clarity of expression.
- Proven track record in multi-format writing for digital channels, including social, e-mail, long-form and microcopy.
- Hands-on experience with SEO optimisation and content tools, including Surfer SEO or equivalent.
- Practical use of AI tools for drafting, optimisation and translation, with an emphasis on maintaining quality and compliance.
- Background in journalism or thought leadership writing, able to simplify technical or financial topics for target audiences.
Preferred skills
- Experience with GEO optimisation for local search and AI-driven overviews.
- Familiarity with marketing funnels, customer journeys and campaign measurement.
- Ability to interpret KPIs such as engagement, reach, CTR and SOV to inform content decisions.
- Experience writing for B2B audiences or entrepreneurs, and prior exposure to regulated sectors such as banking.
Languages
- French, C2, native-level professional writing.
- Dutch, C1, able to translate and adapt texts and participate in meetings.
- English, B2, able to read sources and translate into French.
Education
- Bachelor or Master in communication, journalism, marketing, languages or equivalent professional experience.
