The team is part of an operational control and reporting unit in the banking sector that consolidates data used for control, regulatory and management reporting. This role exists to design and deliver robust data solutions for control processes, working with SQL and SAS to collect, pool and sample data so stakeholders can make validated decisions. This senior data engineer brussels position focuses on hands-on data preparation, validation and stakeholder-facing reporting.
The mission
You will join the OPC Control and Reporting Factory to improve how control data is sourced, validated and presented across multiple business lines. The technical landscape combines relational databases, SAS batch processing and end-user reporting; the work matters because these datasets feed regulatory checks and internal remediation plans. You will operate in a domain where data integrity and traceability are critical to decision making.
Day to day you will design and implement data solutions that pool and sample datasets, build repeatable SQL pipelines, and produce ready-to-use data views for analysts and managers. Typical outputs include validated data extracts, sampling scripts, and concise management summaries. You will work autonomously within a cross-functional team, negotiate data quality fixes with stakeholders and help move self-service capabilities to end users.
