The team is responsible for corrective maintenance and incremental fixes on a production application used to process permit and accreditation requests, including document generation and electronic signing. The landscape handles integrations from an ESB and portal forms, Camunda-managed business processes, Alfresco-stored documents and PostgreSQL databases. The work matters because small defects can block authorisation flows and delay citizen-facing decisions.
You will join a small backend/frontend maintenance team of senior engineers, typically collaborating with 3-6 developers, a product owner and operations staff. Your day-to-day scope is analysing reported incidents, locating the minimal code change to resolve the issue, implementing the fix with tests and deploying via the existing Jenkins and XL-Deploy pipeline. You will also review logs, reproduce defects from form/ESB inputs and support occasional on-demand corrective interventions outside normal release cycles.
Your responsibilities
- Analyse production incidents and reproduce erroneous behaviour from submitted forms and ESB messages to reach a clear root cause
- Implement targeted fixes in Java/Spring Boot and Angular, prioritising minimal, well-tested changes over large rewrites
- Verify and update Camunda process definitions and Alfresco integrations when business process or document issues are involved
- Execute and improve CI/CD deployments using Jenkins and Digital.AI (XL-Deploy), and containerise fixes with Docker where required
- Maintain database integrity and performance for PostgreSQL, applying schema migrations or queries as part of corrective work
- Collaborate with operations to prepare hotfix releases and provide on-call availability for urgent production repairs

Essential skills
- Senior-level experience in full-stack Java/Angular maintenance, with a track record of shipping corrective fixes in production
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, and in modern Angular for troubleshooting front-end defects
- Practical experience with Camunda for workflow orchestration and Alfresco for document management
- Competence with Docker, PostgreSQL, Jenkins and Digital.AI (XL-Deploy) in a CI/CD pipeline
- Strong analytical debugging skills, including log analysis, reproducing ESB/form integrations and writing regression tests
- Comfortable working in a public-sector context and available for on-demand corrective interventions when required
