A public sector agency responsible for migration and reception services is creating a centralised data layer to professionalise data exchange between case management systems, external registries and reporting tools. This role combines Data & Services Architecture with enterprise architecture expertise to map the current application and data landscape and propose a target architecture that reuses existing components such as Azure Data Warehouse and Power BI.
The mission
The assignment supports a multi-year programme to align the agency's ICT, HR, facilities and finance domains with a new federal migration service and a national migration programme. The technical landscape includes multiple legacy case management systems, a data warehouse, and Power BI reporting; the outcome should simplify data flows and make consolidated reporting possible across internal and external sources.
You will lead a cross-functional architecture effort, producing an application and data landscape inventory, AS-IS and TO-BE diagrams, and a capability map for the business domain. Day to day you will work with the ICT department, data and analytics lead, software architects and programme architects from the national migration programme to design and validate a centralised data layer that improves data exchange and reduces duplication.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the creation of a complete application and data landscape inventory, delivering clear AS-IS and TO-BE artefacts
- Design a centralised data layer architecture that enables consolidated reporting and streamlined data exchange between internal systems and external registries
- Produce a capability map and business architecture inputs that link application services to organisational capabilities
- Define integration patterns and data flow specifications compatible with Azure Data Warehouse and Power BI implementations
- Assess current documentation, prioritise gaps and deliver an action plan to raise architectural documentation to operational standard
- Coordinate with programme architects and stakeholders to identify synergies and alignment opportunities with the national migration programme

- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to translate technical architecture into business-aligned decisions
- Senior-level consulting or public sector architecture experience, able to work in programme governance settings
