The Access Management team within a major Belgian financial institution governs how user access permissions are modelled and enforced across global applications. This role exists to translate business requirements into the organisation's security model and policies, with a strong focus on Identity and Access Management and role based access control, and hands-on use of SQL and MS Excel to support business modelling and reporting.
The mission
The team maintains and evolves the bank's logical access model, running the business modelling process that defines roles, entitlements and segregation of duties rules across hundreds of applications and thousands of users. Work spans policy definition, operational controls and close alignment with information security standards and frameworks; the output reduces risk and ensures compliant access for business processes.
You will own the Business Modelling (BM) process for access management, keeping it updated and improving how role definitions and entitlement collections are produced. Day to day you will translate business needs into the security model, validate and implement access solutions against SLAs and policies, and produce the business requirements and traceability needed by IAM architects and delivery teams. You will provide guidance and training to business security officers, advise on IAM architecture changes, and collaborate with other access management streams to improve RBAC quality and segregation of duties controls.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the business modelling process, delivering clear role definitions and entitlement mappings that meet security policies and audit requirements
- Translate business requirements into the security model and formal business requirements documents used by IAM architects and developers
- Validate and implement access solutions, ensuring compliance with information security standards and internal SLAs
- Advise on architecture adjustments, recommending changes to maintain RBAC integrity and reduce segregation of duties conflicts
- Produce analyses and reports using MS Excel and SQL to support decision making and evidence for audits
- Train and support business security officers and access teams to ensure consistent application of the security model
