A large Belgian financial institution is consolidating and modernising several payment and customer-facing applications, and this role exists to translate business needs into implementable solutions. You will work on functional analysis, solution design and integration activities in an agile environment, with an emphasis on functional and technical knowledge of existing IT systems and mobile iOS/android channels. The role requires close collaboration with architects, product owners and multiple asset teams to ensure secure, production-ready deliveries.
The mission
The project covers end-to-end application design and integration for banking services used by internal teams and retail customers, including APIs, mobile channels and back-office processing. The technical landscape includes legacy applications, integration layers and security controls; your work will ensure proposed solutions conform to enterprise architecture, security standards and cost/benefit constraints.
Day to day you will translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and application designs, align responsibilities across asset teams, and produce the technical definitions needed for implementation, for example queues, integration layers and security rules. You will follow developments and tests in sprints, support suppliers during integration and assembly testing (I&AT), and coordinate releases and production support with operations and helpdesks.
Your responsibilities
- Drive clear, testable functional specifications from business requirements, ensuring traceability to acceptance criteria and enterprise standards
- Coordinate functional responsibilities across multiple asset teams and suppliers, delivering a unified view to the client and product owner
- Define technical interfaces and non-functional constraints, including queues, integration layers and security requirements, so teams can implement consistently
- Oversee development validation and integration and assembly testing support, analyse defects and ensure fixes meet the functional intent
- Support release and deployment activities and provide structured production incident analysis and remediation coordination
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and decision points, documenting choices and maintaining up-to-date solution documentation
Your profile
Essential skills
- At least 5 years of experience in functional analysis and solution design for enterprise IT systems
- Proven functional and technical understanding of existing IT landscapes, integration patterns and security constraints
- Solid knowledge of the banking domain and related business processes
- Practical experience translating business needs into detailed functional requirements and application designs
- Strong communication skills, able to coordinate multiple technical teams and present solutions to stakeholders
- Methodical, analytical and able to manage several projects or workstreams concurrently
Preferred skills
- Hands-on experience with mobile iOS and Android product features and constraints
- Practical experience with Scrum and working in Agile delivery teams
- Prior involvement in integration and assembly testing (I&AT) and supplier support
- Experience defining queues, integration layers and technical security specifications
