A major Belgian gaming and lottery operator runs a high-traffic, mobile-first digital platform and is expanding the team that builds its web experience. The role focuses on developing in AEM 6.5 and integrating React/Redux front-ends with Java 8 back-end services, working inside an Agile delivery process to support peaks of activity and a large mobile user base.
The mission
The project maintains a hybrid retail and digital ecosystem that serves millions of interactions per year and must sustain short spikes of traffic, up to 5,000 participations per minute. The technical landscape is Adobe Experience Manager 6.5, Java 8 services, Maven builds, Git version control, and React/Redux front-ends with responsive HTML5/CSS. Delivering reliable AEM components and efficient front-end rendering directly supports a mobile-first product used by a large national audience.
On a day-to-day basis you will design and implement custom AEM components, templates and dialogs in AEM 6.5, integrate React/Redux user interfaces, and collaborate with back-end and operations teams on CI/CD and deployment tasks. You will work in an Agile squad, participate in refinement and sprint ceremonies, and own delivery of tested features that perform under high load and mobile constraints.
Your responsibilities
- Design and deliver reusable AEM 6.5 components, templates and edit configurations that meet product and accessibility requirements
- Integrate React/Redux front-end applications with AEM content models and Java 8 services to provide fast, responsive user experiences
- Ensure production readiness by implementing CI/CD practices, Maven builds, Git feature branching, and automated tests
- Optimise performance and scalability to handle traffic peaks, including client-side render strategies and AEM dispatcher configuration
- Collaborate with Adobe Managed Services and operations on deployments, runbook tasks and AMS release procedures
- Maintain high quality through unit, integration and performance testing, and participate in peer code reviews
Your profile
Essential skills
- Certified AEM Developer, proven experience with AEM 6.5, component development, templates and dialogs
- 4+ years experience in front-end or full-stack roles, strong practical knowledge of React and Redux
- Solid Java 8 and Maven experience, comfortable with OSGi, JCR and Apache Sling concepts
- Strong HTML5, CSS/SASS and responsive design skills
- Experience with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Familiarity with web protocols and authentication patterns such as REST and OAuth
- Comfortable working in Agile teams and collaborating across product, back-end and operations

- Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent practical experience, plus AEM developer certification
