The Product Manager Savings & Invest will join a major life insurer managing savings and investment portfolios, with a clear focus on Branch 23 and Branch 21 products. The role combines product management, deep Excel data analysis and ownership of tax and legal topics tied to life insurance products, producing detailed business specifications, reserve calculations and commercial supports.
The mission
You will work in a product team that manages retail savings and investment solutions sold through distributors and advisers. The technical landscape includes actuarial reserve models, simulation tools, regulatory reporting and commercial documentation for Branch 23 and Branch 21 offers. The work matters because product changes affect pricing, reserves and distributor communication across the portfolio.
On a day-to-day basis you will be the product lead for defined releases and "ongoing concerns" alongside the product manager. Typical interactions include workshops with operations, marketing, legal, actuarial and IT teams. You will deliver business specifications at a level suitable for development and actuarial implementation, prepare presentations for management and ensure releases meet regulatory, tax and commercial requirements.
Your responsibilities
- Define and deliver business specifications that include high-level process flows, simulation requirements, reserve calculation inputs and reporting needs
- Analyse commercial and financial data in Excel and convert results into actionable product decisions and pricing or reserve adjustments
- Coordinate with legal, tax and actuarial teams to ensure product changes comply with regulation and tax rules for life insurance
- Prepare clear management presentations and commercial supports to explain proposals to senior stakeholders and distributors
- Lead cross-functional workshops and follow through on delivery, ensuring scope, timelines and quality for product releases
- Review and validate distributor-facing documents and communication to ensure accuracy and consistency with product rules
Your profile
Essential skills
- Product management experience, mid-level, with at least 2 years in a product role
- Practical experience with Branch 23 and Branch 21 investment products, or close familiarity with unit-linked and with-profit structures
- Strong excel data analysis skills, able to manipulate large worksheets, run simulations and draw commercial conclusions
- Knowledge of tax and legal topics linked to life insurance product design and distribution
- Ability to write detailed product specifications, including reserve calculations and reporting requirements
- Clear communication skills, able to present complex subjects simply and persuade senior management
