A financial services IT organisation is delivering the Move to Cloud 2026–2028 program to migrate local applications to IaaS/PaaS, adopt the Group DevSecOps toolchain and apply cloud security standards. The local technical Project Manager (IT), a senior cloud migration expert, will define and drive the local cloud strategy and operational implementation, coordinating CI/CD, Kubernetes and containerisation work across technical teams and external providers.
The mission
The programme is a regional part of an EMEA cloud transformation that standardises platform delivery, automation and security for business applications. The role sits at the intersection between the central Cloud Horizon programme, the Cloud DevOps Centre of Expertise and local IT teams, and focuses on delivering application and infrastructure migrations during the 2026–2028 timeframe.
Day-to-day you will plan and pilot migration waves for applications running on RHEL, Java/Spring stacks and databases such as Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL, and you will lead the adoption of the Group CI/CD and DevSecOps toolchain. You will own local budgeting and resource follow-up, risk identification and mitigation, reporting to steering committees and the handover of migrated systems to run teams.
Your responsibilities
- Define and pilot the local migration roadmap and detailed migration plans, ensuring alignment with the central programme and the Cloud DevOps CoE
- Coordinate and deliver migration waves, driving measurable outcomes in automation, CI/CD adoption and container orchestration with Kubernetes
- Implement and enforce cloud governance, FinOps controls and DevSecOps practices to ensure compliance with ISO27001 and NIST requirements
- Manage stakeholders and suppliers, prepare project and steering committee materials, and provide clear progress reporting to management
- Monitor budget and resource consumption, escalate risks early and lead remediation actions to keep deliveries on schedule
- Ensure operational handover of platforms and applications to run teams, including documentation and runbook verification
Your profile
Essential skills
- At least 8 years of experience delivering complex international cloud migration projects or programmes
- Proven ability to define cloud strategy and drive operational implementation on IaaS/PaaS platforms
- Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD toolchains, Docker, Kubernetes, RHEL, Java and Spring frameworks
- Experience with relational and enterprise data technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL, and integration technologies (ESB, ETL, API management, document management systems)
- Strong project management capability across V-Cycle, Agile, Scrum, Kanban and hybrid approaches, with risk management experience
- Good knowledge of IT security frameworks, specifically ISO27001 and NIST, and practical experience embedding DevSecOps controls
- Clear written and verbal communication for technical and executive audiences, experience preparing and running steering committees
