A semi-public organisation responsible for the safe treatment of radioactive waste and the decommissioning of nuclear installations is expanding its project delivery capacity. This role exists to manage technical projects across infrastructure and installation renewal, with a strong emphasis on project management and documentation management to ensure regulatory compliance and operational safety.
The mission
You will join a multidisciplinary delivery environment where projects cover technical concept development, installation upgrades and the handover of operational systems. Work sits inside a regulated, safety-critical domain and requires balancing technical studies, procurement and on-site delivery so that projects meet legal and safety requirements.
On a day-to-day basis you will own project planning, progress monitoring and stakeholder reporting. You will lead the execution and commissioning of installations, coordinate internal specialists and external contractors, and ensure the project dossiers and procedures are complete and auditable. Your work links directly to operations teams and the PMO to secure accepted, well-documented changes across the organisation.
Your responsibilities
- Deliver project outcomes on time and within the defined regulatory and quality frameworks, ensuring safe and compliant handover of installations
- Lead the development of technical analyses and concepts, turning expert input into implementable designs and decision-ready deliverables
- Maintain and keep up-to-date project dossiers and documentation, including inventories, procedures and permit-related records to satisfy audits and legal obligations
- Coordinate multidisciplinary internal and external teams to ensure clear responsibilities, correct execution of tasks and efficient use of resources
- Manage contractor and supplier contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are respected and non-conformities are escalated and resolved
- Communicate project progress, risks and financial status to stakeholders and the PMO, embedding change management so solutions are accepted and adopted
Your profile
Essential skills
- Proven capability in project management, able to plan, track and close medium-complexity technical projects at medior level
- Strong documentation management skills, able to assemble and maintain complete, auditable project dossiers and procedures
- Experience coordinating teams, including internal specialists and external contractors, to deliver construction or installation projects
- Ability to develop and review technical concepts and studies, challenge expert input and synthesize pragmatic, safe solutions
- Clear communicator, able to report to steering groups and operational stakeholders and to embed change through structured stakeholder engagement
