The organisation is a public-sector insurance-related institution that relies on a long-established SAP landscape to run core finance and policy workflows. This role, SAP Licensing & Contract Assistance, brings deep SAP licensing knowledge to a programme that will build a licence baseline, review contractual terms and prepare for a future move to more recent SAP products such as SAP S/4HANA and Business Technology Platform.
The Mission
The immediate project is to create an accurate, auditable SAP license baseline and to map current deployments to contractual entitlements. The current estate includes SAP ECC under enterprise support, bespoke custom developments embedded in the landscape, and a Business Technology Platform environment. The baseline will quantify consumption, flag compliance risks and identify optimisation opportunities across these components.
Day to day you will analyse usage data, translate technical deployments into licensing metrics and produce contracting guidance that matches the organisation's SAP roadmap. You will work with a small core team of product owners, a procurement lead and external technical specialists to turn baseline results into contracting and procurement recommendations, and you will support negotiation preparation and supplier interactions.
Your Responsibilities
- Produce a detailed SAP license baseline that reconciles deployed software, user and engine metrics, and actual system usage into a single compliance view
- Assess contractual models and recommend future contracting options that align product entitlements to the to-be functional landscape, including S/4HANA and BTP scenarios
- Identify and document key contractual clauses and negotiation points that mitigate legal, operational and financial risk while preserving flexibility
- Deliver a sourcing and procurement approach, including benchmarking inputs and a negotiation playbook for procurement and legal stakeholders
- Present findings and roadmaps to senior stakeholders, converting technical results into clear contracting actions and decision points
