The organisation is a major Belgian financial technology group maintaining long-running mainframe services that support term deposit and interest-bearing products. This Senior Dev Engineer role focuses on mainframe development with strong Cobol and DB2 work, part of an agile squad responsible for both RUN and change activities and for transferring knowledge on Term Deposit systems.
The Mission
The team operates within a small, cross-functional agile squad that delivers increments each sprint for business-critical deposit services. The technical landscape is predominantly z/OS mainframe: Cobol, DB2, IMS, GTMS, JCL and EdZ for core processing, with middleware integration via MQ, zOS Connect and SOAP. The work sustains high-availability production services and implements controlled changes to customer-facing banking processes.
Day to day you will perform end-to-end technical analysis, design and development on Term Deposit applications, handle incidents in RUN activities and implement change requests from the sprint backlog. You will document technical solutions and participate in knowledge transfer activities to ensure continuity of expertise for Term Deposit systems, collaborating closely with DevOps, infrastructure teams and product stakeholders.
