The project sits inside an Employee Benefits and Health Care unit of a major Belgian insurer, delivering claims-handling applications for medical and income care products. This Test Analyst Health Care role exists to validate functional changes and integrations through structured test strategy, test scripts, system integration testing and user acceptance testing to keep claims flows stable and auditable.
The mission
The team maintains and evolves applications used for Medical Care (hospitalisation and ambulatory) and Income Care claims handling. The technical landscape includes application specifications from business analysts, integrations with back-office systems and regular release cycles where regression and integration stability are important, and the work directly affects operational claims processing and customer reimbursements.
You will translate application specifications into a concrete test approach, produce and execute test scripts for system integration tests and UAT, and report progress and defects to IT and business stakeholders. On a day-to-day basis you will collaborate with business analysts, technical teams and end users to refine test cases, run regression packs before releases, and produce clear progress reports that drive release decisions.
Your responsibilities
- Define and maintain a test strategy that ensures coverage across functional scenarios, integrations and regression risks.
- Translate functional specifications into executable test scripts and scenarios, prioritising based on business impact and risk.
- Execute system integration tests and user acceptance tests, logging reproducible defects and validating fixes to closure.
- Produce concise progress reports and communicate test status, blockers and release readiness to stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement by proposing process or test automation improvements to reduce manual regression time.
- Coordinate test data preparation and execute regression cycles to protect production stability during releases.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Structured approach to test preparation and execution, with 2+ years of hands-on experience in test strategy, scripting and reporting.
- Experience analysing application specifications and turning business rules into test cases.
- Practical experience with system integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) in multi-team delivery contexts.
- Competent with MS Office tools, especially Word and Excel, for test documentation and reporting.
- Clear written and oral communication skills, able to report progress and raise issues to both business and IT audiences.
- Analytical mindset, accurate work habits and the ability to work autonomously and within a team.
Preferred skills
- Experience in insurance, ideally with group health or employee benefits products.
- Familiarity with healthcare claims processes, such as hospitalisation or ambulatory reimbursements.
Languages
- English: B2
- Dutch: C1 or B2 (one of Dutch and French should be fluent, the other at least B2)

Education
- Bachelor degree or equivalent practical experience in IT, business analysis or a related field.
