A major financial institution is running a multi-year transformation to automate servicing and operations using a workflow automation platform based on ServiceNow, and needs a Senior Test Manager to ensure system integration testing and API and middleware architectures are validated end to end. The role sits in the central Delivery Office and focuses on test strategy, quality governance and integration between the workflow platform and the bank back-end such as core banking and party management systems.
The mission
The programme is a multi-stream delivery affecting 500+ operational roles and runs over the next two years, introducing workflow automation, robots and AI while connecting those capabilities to existing IT systems through APIs. The technical landscape includes ServiceNow-based automation, middleware layers, cloud or hybrid hosting and several core banking and data platforms that require coordinated validation.
You will be the Central Test Coordinator responsible for defining the overall Test Strategy and governance across initiatives, aligning test approaches between the Delivery Office and the outsourcing partner, and ensuring environment and integration readiness for major releases. On a day-to-day basis you will plan and coordinate integration and end-to-end testing, manage defects and quality gates, produce stakeholder reporting and support go/no-go decisions across multiple tribes and streams.
Your responsibilities
- Define and maintain the test strategy and governance that covers API integrations, middleware and core banking interfaces, ensuring aligned approaches across all streams
- Orchestrate integration and end-to-end testing across the workflow automation platform and backend systems, delivering validated interfaces and integration test results
- Coordinate test planning, environment provisioning and test data across tribes, service teams and the central Delivery Office to meet release timelines
- Drive defect and quality management, establish exit criteria, and present clear go/no-go recommendations to stakeholders
- Produce and maintain transparent stakeholder reporting, dashboards and defect metrics, and facilitate status meetings and escalations for critical risks
- Coach and align tribe test engineers and local test leads on test techniques, integration scenarios and risk-based testing decisions
Your profile
Essential skills
- Minimum 10 years of testing experience, demonstrable in System Integration Testing across API and middleware architectures
- Strong knowledge of core banking and party management systems and the testing challenges they introduce
- Experience testing in cloud or hybrid environments, including environment readiness and data setup
- Proven capability in test strategy, planning and coordination for large-scale transformation programmes
- Strong stakeholder reporting, governance, risk-based decision-making and leadership skills
Preferred skills
- ISTQB testing certification (agile variant) preferred
- Experience with Agile-at-Scale frameworks, SAFe, and Scrum certification is an advantage
