The Channels & Customer Experiences for Individuals (CCE-I) tribe at a major Belgian bank delivers digital banking channels and mobile experiences for retail customers. This Tribe Scrum Master role exists to orchestrate cluster-level delivery across multiple squads, driving scaled agile execution, stakeholder management, and risk mitigation for complex digital initiatives such as front-end and API-enabled features.
The mission
You will manage end-to-end delivery for a cluster, aligning squads with the tribe roadmap, KPIs and regulatory requirements. The technical landscape combines front-end and mobile delivery, API architecture, CI/CD pipelines and product teams; your work ensures features and epics are released on time, within scope and with controlled technical debt.
On a daily basis you will structure and prioritise cross-squad work, facilitate cluster-level ceremonies such as Scrum of Scrums and Delivery Boards, and keep a visible view of dependencies, impediments and risks for the Tribe Management Team. You will coach Scrum Masters and squads in agile practices, translate business strategy into executable delivery plans and interface directly with senior leadership and product owners to unblock delivery.
Your responsibilities
- Orchestrate cluster delivery, ensuring epics and features are delivered on schedule and aligned with tribe objectives
- Escalate and mitigate cross-squad dependencies and risks, reporting progress and proposed actions to senior stakeholders
- Coach and mentor Scrum Masters and squads to improve flow, reduce cycle time and manage technical debt
- Facilitate cluster-level ceremonies and governance, maintaining transparent metrics (velocity, burn-up, cycle time) for decision making
- Translate business priorities into pragmatic delivery plans and release schedules, coordinating release management with DevOps and engineering leads
- Promote compliance with agile frameworks and regulatory constraints relevant to the banking sector
Your profile
Essential skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience delivering complex digital or IT projects, with deep experience in a scaled agile environment
- Proven capability in stakeholder management, project and priority management, and risks & issues management
- Experience working with senior leadership and translating strategy into delivery plans
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, CI/CD and technical debt trade-offs
- Strong facilitation and reporting skills, comfortable using agile metrics to drive decisions
Preferred skills
- Familiarity with banking processes such as payments, lending or customer journeys
- Experience in front-end, digital or mobile delivery and API architecture strategy
- Knowledge of release management and DevOps practices
