A public sector organisation uses Workday to run HR processes for multiple business units and is extending its integrations and automation. This role focuses on hands-on configuration of Workday HCM (Core, Recruitment and Talent) and building reliable integrations using Workday Studio and PECI to ensure accurate employee data across payroll, benefits and vendor systems.
The mission
The HR IT team maintains a single Workday tenant that serves several business units, with regular functional releases and quarterly integration refreshes. The landscape includes Core Connectors, inbound and outbound interfaces to payroll and benefits systems, and a mix of self-service and HR specialist processes; stability and data quality are primary concerns.
You will take ownership for making Workday fit evolving HR needs, converting business requirements into scalable configurations and resilient integrations. Day-to-day work includes configuring HCM components, building and monitoring integrations in Workday Studio and PECI, troubleshooting data issues, and working with HR analysts, project managers and end users to test and deploy changes.
Your responsibilities
- Configure and optimise the Workday HCM Core, Recruitment and Talent modules to deliver reliable hire, job change and compensation processes
- Translate HR and business requirements into testable, maintainable Workday configurations and integration designs
- Manage, deploy and monitor inbound and outbound integrations using Workday Studio and PECI, ensuring data consistency with payroll and third-party vendors
- Troubleshoot integration and data issues, deliver root cause analysis and implement durable fixes
- Collaborate with HR analysts, IT operations and project managers to plan releases, run user acceptance tests and document changes
- Coach HR users and produce configuration and integration documentation to reduce operational tickets
Your profile
Essential skills
- Proven experience as a Workday consultant or analyst with hands-on Workday HCM Core, Recruitment and Talent experience
- Practical experience designing and implementing integrations using Workday Studio and PECI
- Experience operating in a landscape with Core Connectors, inbound/outbound interfaces and external payroll/benefits systems
- Strong functional understanding of HR processes: hire, job changes, compensation and payroll flows
- Clear communicator able to work with HR stakeholders and IT teams, with a structured, analytical approach to problem solving
Preferred skills
- Workday certifications (HCM, Integrations or Studio)
- Experience with complex payroll environments
- Familiarity with Workday reporting and Prism Analytics
