A public-sector digitalisation programme is replacing a legacy grant and procurement application with an Odoo-based platform, and this role exists to capture business and functional requirements to support that transition. The analyst will work across process modelling (BPMN), functional testing and documentation, and will use tools such as Jira, Sparx Enterprise Architect and Balsamiq to produce user stories and test scenarios.
The mission
The programme covers the decommissioning of a legacy application and the documentation of business history and uncovered functional gaps, feeding into the design and delivery of a grants and allocation management solution. Work touches procurement and subsidy workflows used by multiple departments, with outputs that directly affect how staff consult historical records and run day-to-day allocation processes.
On a day-to-day basis you will run business and functional analysis cycles, update process and data models, and translate findings into clear user stories, acceptance criteria and test scenarios. You will collaborate with developers and product owners in a Scrum environment, support functional testing, and produce handover material such as user guides and demo scripts to help the organisation adopt the new solution.
Your responsibilities
- Lead business and functional analysis activities to identify gaps between the legacy application and the new Odoo implementation, producing concise models and recommendations.
- Translate process maps into user stories with clear acceptance criteria and test scenarios that developers and testers can execute.
- Validate requirements and execute or supervise functional testing to ensure delivered features match business needs.
- Document screen designs and quick prototypes using Balsamiq to speed up alignment with stakeholders.
- Manage requirements and traceability in Jira and keep models in Sparx Enterprise Architect up to date.
- Coach users on documented processes, produce user guides and run demo sessions to support adoption and administrative simplification.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Proven experience as a business analyst or functional analyst within a multi-stakeholder programme, preferably in the public sector.
- Practical experience modelling processes with BPMN and maintaining models in Sparx Enterprise Architect.
- Comfortable writing actionable user stories, acceptance criteria and functional test scenarios.
- Hands-on use of Jira for requirements tracking and test traceability.
- Familiarity with Odoo implementations or similar ERP/modules for grants or procurement.
- Experience creating screen mockups with Balsamiq and executing functional testing.
- Strong written and verbal communication, structured working style, autonomy and client orientation.
