The organisation runs a public-sector cross-border fines platform that coordinates and optimises the end-to-end processing of traffic fines and related justice digitalisation products. This Senior IT Infrastructure Architect will focus on the platform's Azure-based infrastructure, including Azure PaaS/IaaS and Azure Active Directory, and on improving incident governance and operational reliability across virtualised and cloud environments.
The mission
The project maintains a production estate composed of Azure PaaS and IaaS services, VMware virtualised workloads, Red Hat Linux hosts and Windows Server instances, supporting a multi-stakeholder justice-related process with high audit and availability requirements. The role contributes to defining the technical ICT architecture, writing architecture documentation, and ensuring solutions meet security, scalability and performance constraints.
Day-to-day you will design and validate infrastructure patterns, author the technical sections of business analysis and procurement responses, and set the operational rules for incident handling to prevent an unmanageable backlog. You will work with a delivery team of engineers and platform operators, interact with product owners and external suppliers, and monitor quality, testing and compliance during rollout and steady state.
Your responsibilities
- Design and document infrastructure architecture that secures and scales Azure PaaS/IaaS, VMware and Red Hat components, producing clear implementation artefacts.
- Define and enforce daily incident governance and prioritisation criteria to reduce unresolved incidents and control backlog growth.
- Evaluate technical offers and supplier proposals, focusing on architectural fit, security, performance and operability.
- Produce technical input for business analyses, estimates, workplans and procurement dossiers, aligning stakeholders on constraints and delivery timelines.
- Monitor delivery progress, conduct architecture and configuration reviews, and validate test results to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Coach platform engineers on configuration-as-code practices using Terraform and version control with GIT.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Senior-level experience, minimum 5 years in IT infrastructure roles within public sector environments, with direct exposure to justice or regulatory processes.
- Proven capability with Azure PaaS and IaaS, and hands-on experience with Azure Active Directory.
- Strong technical knowledge of VMware, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server (MCSA/MCTS level familiarity).
- Practical experience with Terraform, GIT and configuration-as-code workflows.
- Operational knowledge of ITSM processes and ITIL principles, able to define incident priority frameworks and run daily operational governance.
- Clear communicator able to align multiple stakeholders, produce procurement-grade technical documents and deliver under operational pressure.
