A transformation team in the life insurance sector is expanding a proven data quality framework and Power BI reporting approach from a single domain to multiple business domains and project phases. The role sits between data governance, business domain owners and data engineering and combines data quality expertise, SQL analysis and stakeholder management to scale reporting, define quality rules and drive remediation.
The mission
The organisation has an operational data quality framework and Power BI reporting structure for one domain and is now scaling that approach across additional domains and project phases. You will work in a cross-functional transformation team that includes data engineers, functional analysts and data stewards to increase trust in source data used for reporting and operations, and to raise the organisation's data governance maturity.
On a day-to-day basis you will develop data quality plans for new phases, profile and analyse key datasets with SQL, and translate findings into actionable quality rules. You will extend and maintain Power BI dashboards that measure data health, support remediation activities with business owners and technical teams, and keep senior stakeholders informed of progress and risks.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the design and rollout of data quality plans that deliver measurable improvements in data accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and prioritise data quality rules based on profiling and analysis, ensuring rules map to business-critical data elements.
- Analyse datasets using SQL and profiling techniques to identify root causes and quantify the business impact of data issues.
- Build and extend Power BI reports that present data quality metrics and trends to business and technical audiences.
- Translate data quality metrics into clear remediation actions and coordinate implementation with data stewards and engineering.
- Communicate status, risks and results to a complex stakeholder landscape, keeping project timelines and dependencies aligned.
Your profile
Essential skills
- 6+ years of experience in data analysis or data quality, demonstrating delivery in complex or changing environments.
- Proven ability to collaborate with data governance functions, data stewards and domain owners to embed quality practices.
- High proficiency in Power BI for dashboarding and visualisation, and advanced SQL for dataset profiling and verification.
- Strong analytical capability to translate data findings into business context and practical remediation steps.
- Practical stakeholder management and clear written and verbal communication, with structured planning and self-management.
