A large public sector organisation operates an internal Project Support Team that defines analysis and testing practices used across multiple IT programmes. This role exists to strengthen functional analysis, data modeling and Atlassian tool expertise, primarily Jira and Confluence, and to support a migration to cloud-hosted Atlassian services. You will work with analysts and development teams to improve how requirements, models and test artefacts are produced and maintained.
The mission
The Project Support Team maintains the organisation's analysis and test methods, the associated documentation standards, and the toolset used by several hundred active users. Current work includes defining templates and conventions for functional analysis, selecting modelling and test tools, and participating in a Jira and Confluence migration to cloud while assessing on-premises alternatives.
Day to day you act as a senior functional analysis advisor for development squads and business analysts, coaching on data modeling, leading test analysis and design activities, and running audits of deliverables to ensure consistency and quality. You will manage Jira / Confluence configuration and user support requests, implement macros and APIs where teams need automation, and produce guidance and training material in English and French.
Your responsibilities
- Define and maintain analysis and modelling methods, templates and conventions that make requirements and models reusable across projects
- Lead Jira and Confluence administration, respond to user support needs, and deliver configuration changes, macros and API-based automations
- Design and run the end-to-end test strategy, including creation and documentation of test cases, coordination of functional test execution and delivery of test reports
- Select, evaluate and integrate documentation, modelling and test tools to reduce manual effort and increase traceability
- Coach analysts and developers through audits, reviews and workshops to raise the quality of functional specifications and test artefacts
- Identify process improvement opportunities, drive their implementation and update organisational procedures and guidance
Your profile
Essential skills
- Minimum 10 years experience in IT development or functional analysis, with a proven senior analyst role
- Strong capability in functional analysis and data modeling, able to produce and review models and specifications
- Expert practical knowledge of Jira / Confluence, including administration, macros and API usage
- Solid experience with Test Analysis & Design, and managing end-to-end test activities and reporting
- Comfortable working in Agile teams, familiar with Scrum practices and backlog-driven delivery
- Proven coaching, written communication and stakeholder facilitation skills, able to write digital guidance in English and French
