The digital team of a Belgian water infrastructure organisation is replacing parts of a legacy AS400 landscape with modern, custom platforms to support the full project lifecycle. This role exists to translate operational needs into functional solutions, using Agile ways of working and BPMN process modelling to design clear end-to-end processes and user flows.
The mission
The team develops and maintains platforms that support project intake, portfolio optimisation, project scope management and ecological reporting for operational and engineering teams. The modernisation covers both built and bought components, and aims to keep functional consistency across legacy and target systems while adding new capabilities for day-to-day users.
You will join a cross-functional product team (6-8 people) and work closely with the Product Owner and Value Stream owner to prepare and validate epics, features and user stories. Your work directly influences the next release cadence and the quality of handover to development and operations, and you will regularly run workshops with business stakeholders and external partners to align on processes and acceptance criteria.
Your responsibilities
- Translate business needs into usable functional analyses, BPMN process models and validated solution proposals that reduce rework in development
- Define clear acceptance criteria, test scenarios and test cases to ensure delivered functionality matches operational requirements
- Facilitate and document workshops that align stakeholders across multiple functional domains and legacy / target system boundaries
- Maintain a decision log, functional documentation set and data flow maps so choices are transparent and reusable across the product suite
- Investigate and articulate dependencies between self-built modules and purchased components to reduce integration risk
- Collaborate with UX and developers to produce Figma screens and user stories that the delivery team can implement and test
