A public utility organisation is executing a multi-year IT transformation to replace its current SAP ECC environment with a modern ERP solution, and to standardise business processes using BPMN and M365 tooling such as SharePoint, PowerApps and Power Automate. This role exists to lead the ERP transformation projects, manage the public procurement steps for selecting the future ERP and implementation partner, and to set up robust test management across programmes.
The mission
You will run a large ERP transformation project that covers the selection of the future ERP, the migration from SAP ECC to the chosen solution, and the handover into operational run. The technical landscape includes SAP ECC and related modules, integrations to specialist systems, and extensive use of M365 for collaboration and low-code forms and automations. The programme spans multiple strategic projects and requires governance, procurement oversight and compliance with GDPR, ISO27001 and NIS2.
Day to day you will lead a core delivery team and coordinate cross-functional streams from business process modelling to cutover planning. Responsibilities include drafting and managing the public procurement process, defining migration and transition plans, embedding test management and coordinating change and training activities for key users. You will report into the programme governance and work closely with PMO tools such as Jira and TOPdesk to maintain transparent progress, risks and budgets.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the ERP selection and transformation, delivering migration and transition plans that minimise business disruption and secure stakeholder buy-in.
- Define and manage the public procurement process, ensuring clear tender documentation and objective vendor/partner evaluation outcomes.
- Establish and run a test management function, implement the agreed test methodology and ensure traceability from requirements to test results.
- Model and optimise business processes using BPMN, translating business needs into solution and testing requirements.
- Drive change management and end-user training alongside business owners to achieve adoption of the new ERP and M365 solutions.
- Monitor programme scope, schedule, resources, costs and risks, and provide regular, actionable reporting to PMO and governance bodies using Jira and TOPdesk.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Proven track record as an IT project manager or programme lead on large ERP transformation projects, including complex migrations from SAP ECC.
- Practical experience with Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) to capture and redesign cross-functional processes.
- Hands-on familiarity with M365 solutions, especially Microsoft SharePoint, PowerApps and Power Automate, to support collaboration and low-code automation.
- Solid knowledge of ERP alternatives and integrations, for example Microsoft Dynamics or Odoo, and understanding of SAP S4 Hana migration considerations.
- Strong project governance skills, with experience applying PRINCE2 and combining Agile, Waterfall and Scrum approaches where appropriate.
- Experience setting up and running test management activities and coordinating end-to-end test cycles.
- Proven stakeholder management and procurement experience, able to negotiate scope with vendors and internal business leads.
- Working knowledge of compliance requirements including GDPR, ISO27001 and NIS2.
