A Belgian public sector organisation is updating its production identity environment from OpenText Identity Management 4.02 to 4.9. The programme covers server and driver upgrades, a redesigned user application and the full testing, go-live and aftercare phases; this role requires hands-on experience with OpenText Identity Management, Java and LDAP.
The mission
The immediate project is to validate and document a complete test environment that already hosts the new IDM drivers and the updated user application. The technical landscape includes OpenText IDM, LDAP integrations with Microsoft Active Directory and NetIQ eDirectory, REST interfaces for downstream systems, and Linux-based application servers. The activity is focused, with a clear upgrade path from test to production and specific workstreams for server upgrades, driver deployment and SSL replacement.
On a day-to-day basis you will plan and execute the upgrade activities across test and production, write and maintain upgrade and runbook documentation, and define and run acceptance test scenarios with business stakeholders. You will work in a small cross-functional delivery team alongside system administrators, application owners and test specialists, and you will own the technical handover and aftercare procedures required for the go-live.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the upgrade of OpenText Identity Management from 4.02 to 4.9 in test and production, delivering documented cutover and rollback procedures
- Implement and validate redesigned IDM drivers and integrate them with Microsoft Active Directory and NetIQ eDirectory via LDAP, producing reproducible deployment artefacts
- Design and execute functional and integration test scenarios, including REST interface validation, SQL data checks and SSL certificate replacement
- Produce clear technical documentation for test and production environments, including step-by-step upgrade procedures and aftercare runbooks for operations teams
- Coordinate with application teams to verify user application behaviour, XML/XSL transformations and data mappings during and after the upgrade
- Troubleshoot issues during testing and the go-live window, remaining available for the defined aftercare period and knowledge transfer sessions
