The organisation operates across Belgian financial and insurance entities to standardise how product and customer profitability is measured. This role exists to build a single, replicable profitability analysis framework based on actuals, combining data modelling, SQL and reporting with financial analysis so decisions about products, customers and potential M&A integrations are based on consistent metrics.
The mission
You will own the design and rollout of a company-wide profitability analysis framework that must be applicable across insurance companies and other Belgian entities, and ready to include future acquisitions. The framework will translate ledger and operational data into comparable profit measures by product, customer, business line and legal entity, and must deliver reliable, auditable outputs for finance and commercial decision making.
On a day-to-day basis you will act as the architect and primary analyst for profitability and performance reporting. You will work with finance, actuarial, BI and IT stakeholders to define allocation rules, build the data model in SQL or a data warehouse, and implement dashboards and exports for decision makers. You will be responsible for the accuracy of actuals-based profitability calculations and for documenting assumptions so the model can be reused across entities and during M&A integrations.
Your responsibilities
- Design a standard profitability model and allocation methodology that produces comparable metrics by product, customer and entity, and ensure it is documented for repeat use
- Own the data model and ETL logic, translating transactional and ledger data into profit and cost drivers using SQL and data warehouse tools
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards and reports that deliver decision-ready insights to finance and commercial teams, using Power BI or equivalent
- Collaborate with actuarial, accounting and IT teams to validate assumptions, reconcile results to statutory reports, and support auditability
- Drive implementation across entities, support local adaptations during roll-out and assist with integration of M&A targets
- Monitor model quality, propose improvements based on actuals reconciliation and stakeholder feedback
