The federal police directorate responsible for information and ICT runs the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) programme that connects and operates intelligent cameras across police zones. This role exists to manage the technical delivery of camera connections and to stabilise the onboarding process, using IT project management practices and Jira and Confluence for tracking and documentation.
The mission
The ANPR programme supports traffic safety and judicial operations by matching live licence-plate captures against national datasets. The technical landscape combines camera hardware, network provisioning, and back-end processing components. The work matters because the project moves from pilot phases to a larger-scale rollout, and consistent onboarding and quality controls are required across multiple integrators and suppliers.
You will focus on organising and optimising the camera-connection process so deployments can scale. On a typical day you will map risks and pain points, write validated plans of approach, coordinate activities with suppliers and integrators, and keep internal IT architects, analysts and core users aligned. The role reports project progress and decisions, and contributes to the programme governance through quality assurance and structured documentation, with a target delivery window through the end of 2026.
Your responsibilities
- Define and deliver an actionable plan of approach that removes bottlenecks in camera onboarding and enables repeatable rollouts
- Coordinate suppliers, integrators and internal stakeholders to secure timely camera connections and resolve technical escalations
- Establish and run project governance and reporting, presenting risks, mitigations and decision records to management and technical leads
- Design and implement quality management and acceptance criteria so each camera connection meets operational standards
- Create and maintain project tracking and knowledge artefacts in Jira and Confluence to support handover and scale
- Participate in future-facing planning for network provisioning and camera architecture to align short-term deliveries with the programme roadmap
