A major Belgian insurance group is digitalising its employee benefits offer and needs a senior project manager to convert customer, distribution partner and employee needs into concrete digital solutions. This role focuses on employee benefits product backlog management, applying Agile delivery, analytics and strong communication skills alongside financial knowledge in the insurance industry to prioritise and deliver value.
The mission
The Employee Benefits programme is a 12-month roadmap of digital initiatives that includes self-service enrolment, partner portals and improvements to benefits administration. The programme sits in a cross-functional delivery area and works with business analysts, product owners and developers to move features from discovery to production, affecting internal HR users and external distribution partners.
On a day-to-day basis you will define and prioritise epics and user journeys in the backlog, run sprint ceremonies with Agile teams and use analytics to measure impact. You will translate regulatory and commercial constraints from the insurance sector into clear acceptance criteria, coordinate stakeholders across HR, underwriting and IT, and report progress to senior management.
Your responsibilities
- Lead delivery of employee benefits digital initiatives, ensuring features meet business outcomes and regulatory requirements
- Drive backlog prioritisation using analytics and stakeholder input to maximise value per release
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and coach teams to maintain predictable delivery cadence and quality
- Translate customer and distribution partner needs into user stories, acceptance criteria and measurable KPIs
- Coordinate cross-domain stakeholders, removing blockers and aligning delivery with the 12-month roadmap
- Produce clear progress reports and decision-grade documentation for senior management and governance forums
Your profile
Essential skills
- 5+ years experience leading digitalisation or innovation projects, preferably within financial services or the insurance industry
- Proven capability with Agile delivery and backlog management, working directly with product owners, BAs and development teams
- Strong analytics capability to define KPIs, interpret usage data and guide prioritisation
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder alignment across business, distribution partners and IT
- Solid understanding of employee benefits processes and how they interact with underwriting, payroll and claims
- Ability to work autonomously while connecting work to a longer-term EB strategy
