A large HR outsourcing provider supports Belgian employers with payroll, benefits and HR administration. The HR Consultant - Payroll role exists to reinforce the HR operations team during peak activity, working on payroll calculation, Belgian payroll legislation and HR helpdesk cases using tools such as Salesforce, Syntegro and Workday.
The mission
The HR operations team manages payroll runs, legislative declarations and employee lifecycle administration for multiple client companies. You will work inside a mixed environment that includes mainframe-hosted payroll batch jobs, Workday for employee records, and front-line case management in Salesforce; the work ensures legal compliance for wages, ASR and ZIMA declarations and timely social security filings.
On a day-to-day basis you will own end-to-end payroll tasks and HR helpdesk cases, from onboarding entries to offboarding settlements. Typical responsibilities include running and validating payroll calculations, processing thematic leaves and time credit requests, preparing certificates and garnishment documents, and coordinating deadlines with colleagues to meet monthly closing cycles.
Your responsibilities
- Execute and validate monthly payroll calculations and follow up on exceptions, ensuring compliance with Belgian payroll legislation.
- Resolve HR helpdesk and payroll queries via Salesforce, delivering clear answers and case updates to client HR contacts.
- Process statutory declarations including ASR and ZIMA, social security submissions and time-credit or thematic leave requests.
- Manage payroll-related documents such as wage garnishments, certificates and vacation settlements, keeping accurate audit trails.
- Coordinate daily payroll activities with colleagues, monitor deadlines and escalate blockers to meet monthly closing schedules.
- Maintain and improve data quality in Syntegro and Workday and operate mainframe payroll jobs via Host on Demand when required.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Proven payroll and compensation & benefits experience, competent handling of end-to-end Belgian payroll processes.
- Strong working knowledge of Belgian payroll legislation and statutory declarations (ASR, ZIMA, social security).
- Practical experience with Workday, Salesforce and Syntegro, and comfort using mainframe-hosted payroll systems.
- Accurate, administrative-minded and able to work autonomously within a small operations team.
- Medior level payroll consultant experience, capable of handling multiple client files and deadlines.
